In 2006, the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace of the Principality of Monaco introduced a high-class inpatient hospitality and catering service, designed to improve the comfort and well-being of patients during their stay in hospital.

With a team of 167 service staff and 11 supervisors, the service ensures the cleanliness and hygiene of rooms at all times, and serves meals between the hours of 7 am and 8 pm, seven days a week.

When the patient arrives and has been seen by the medical and care teams, the hospitality staff will introduce themselves, provide bath robes, towels and a list of services. They will also explain how the television, telephone and automated room systems work.


Meals may be ordered using a computer tablet, with patients choosing what they would like to eat the following day from a menu, including a selection of five options for each dish, along with the menu of the day.
